Collection Day Charges

We DO NOT charge for the collection day EXCEPT for bookings where drop off was made in the morning (before 9:30am) and collection is made during afternoon opening hours (after 4:00pm). In this event, you will be charged for a full day as we will have already walked them twice by this time.

If it becomes impossible to collect your animal by the agreed date or time a telephone call is very important to us so that arrangements can be made

For new customers, we request that a £20 deposit per dog be paid to us to confirm the booking. A new customer booking is only accepted on receipt of your deposit.

Payment may be made by either cash or cheque.

We do not currently accept debit or credit cards.

We reserve the right to revise our prices when necessary.

Abandoned Dogs

In the event of an animal not being collected or boarding fees not being paid, we will seek to re-home the animal concerned after giving 14 days notice to the owner, or his representative at their last known address.

Belongings

Everything your dog requires for his/her stay at Deansford is provided including a plentiful supply of toys. If you want to bring toys, please do not bring anything precious or anything you would not want to lose. The kennels are cleaned out twice every day and toys are easily lost when the bedding is changed.

We supply each dog with its own basket but ask that you bring him/her something from home whether it be bedding or an old blanket so that they have some familiar comforts around them. Occasionally during the settling-in process a dog may be destructive, so may we suggest that an old blanket be put in with his/her normal bedding a few days before their stay and bring that along instead of running the risk of spoiling their normal bed. We do of course keep spare bedding in case it is needed.

Peak Periods

Our peak periods are Bank Holidays, Easter, Summer & Christmas/New Year.

During these times we are always oversubscribed and therefore we require two weeks notice of a change to the booking period during these times.

Outside of our peak periods we are happy to negotiate discounts for long stay occupancy or regular visits. Any discounts negotiated are subject to fees being paid in accordance with our normal payment terms.

The welfare of your Pet(s) is paramount to our business, so we would ask you to take time to read the following Terms and Conditions related to health and wellbeing. You will be requested to sign as read prior to boarding your pets with us.

Exercise

Every dog will have three walks per day whether this be a walk on the lead or a supervised run off the lead in one of our enclosed paddocks or a wander around the wood. In all of these situations this is where, if authorised by yourself, your dog will be able to socialise and make new friends.

Please make sure that your dog has a suitable collar which he/she will be expected to wear at all times during their stay.

Inoculations / Vaccinations

All dogs must be fully inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Para Influenza and Leptospirosis and canine infectious bronchitis (Kennel Cough) and must have had a booster injection within the previous twelve months. Vaccinations must have been carried out at least three weeks prior to arriving at the kennels.

Please bring your latest inoculation certificates with you on each visit, we regret that without them we will be unable to accept your animals.

All pets should have been wormed recently. Should any pet on arrival require treatment for internal or external parasites (fleas worms etc.) this will be done without prior consent from the owner and then a charge will be made for this.

Emergency Care

Whilst every possible attention is given to each pet boarded with us, it is done so entirely at the owner’s own risk.

Any current or ongoing problems with a pet’s health or temperament must be notified to us at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse any pet that we consider to be of an unreliable temperament, or sick at the time of boarding. If your dog is on any medication during his/her stay with us would you please make sure you leave us with clear instructions for administration and also enough medication for your pet’s entire stay.

In the event of illness or injury requiring medical attention, Deansford Kennels will call your nominated vet and if the matter is serious, we will try to contact you or your emergency contact as soon as possible.

In the event that medical treatment is required we will take your dog to either your nominated vet or the Clent Hills Veterinary Practice in Hagley.

The waiver you will have signed when registering with us, authorizes treatment of up £500 if required, which you will have agreed to pay on collection of your dog. If the required care will exceed that amount, Deansford Kennels will try to contact you again at the telephone numbers given to discuss further treatment. If we cannot reach you, Deansford Kennels will use our best judgment in deciding whether to go ahead with any form of treatment recommended by the vet, whether the cost of such treatment exceeds £500 or otherwise.

Each visit to the vet will incur a £20 surcharge to cover time and fuel, payable on collection.

We strongly advise that you have suitable pet insurance in place before leaving your animal with us.

Dogs need opportunities to interact positively with appropriate companions so that they do not become lonely or bored.

Dogs also need to be sociable, they are sociable animals who need and enjoy company. If dogs have appropriate contact with other dogs early in life, they can become more sociable and it can enhance their quality of life.

We ensure there is constant supervision when dogs in our care are with another animals, so that if they feel uncomfortable we can intervene and give them some reassurance.
